April 2010 Advertisers and Ideas on How to Promote Them

A few weeks ago, we announced we were going to start listing our new advertisers in a bi-weekly blog post. This is so our users can get a sense of what type of advertisers we have in our system in case they want to promote them or create content around them. We’ve decided to go even further and provide monthly updates on new advertisers as ways you can promote them. So this blog post showcases some of the new advertisers we’ve added over the past month. They  include coupon codes and promotions you can mention in your posts as well as topic ideas on how to introduce them or promote them to increase the likelihood of conversions. This is the longest post we’ve put together and I hope you find it helpful. Good luck!
For health, fitness and diet bloggers:
  • Tony Little – America’s Personal Trainer has his own store where he sells exercise equipment and DVD’s, apparel, footwear and wellness products. The most interesting product he offers are “Cheeks Exercise Sandals” that are scientifically engineered to firm your legs and buttocks while you walk. It’s one of their best sellers and they’re currently offering free shipping on the product.
  • Zone Diet – Created by Dr. Sears, this is one of the most popular diets in the country. The site offers a free 7-Day Meal planner and various health and wellness products.
  • FitOrbit – Online personal training service that pairs you up with your own trainer to help you get in shape and lose weight. An entry discussing the service and their blogs written by personal trainers would make an informative entry. To increase the likelihood of conversions from this post, add pricing and how they’re currently offering 20% Off any FitOrbit online personal training package.
  • DietToGo – Deliver low-fat, low-carb, vegetarian and diabetic meal plans that are prepared by chefs and never freeze-dried. A side by side comparison on how this compares to BistroMD and similar services would make a great blog entry. Let your readers know they can try it out for free by using coupon code “CJFM19″ or they can use “CJ2000″ for $20 off first orders.
  • Sunfood Nutrition – Sunfood’s online store offers nutrition information for health buffs and sells raw and organic superfoods. Health and fitness blogs should definitely devote an entry to them discussing ways the site can benefit their readers.
  • Swanson Health Foods – This is one of the top online discount vitamin stores on the web. They also sell supplements, organic foods, natural skincare products and homeopathic supplements. They have a great ranking in Commission Junction and are worth mentioning when discussing vitamins. The site also has a section dedicated to sale items that have great deals you won’t find in your local vitamin store.
  • American Diabetes Wholesale – Again, I think the name says it all here. A price comparison on the most popular diabetes products with Amazon or another large retailer would make a great entry. You may also want to mention the following coupon codes:

- $20 off and free shipping with orders of $130 or more when using coupon code “ADW2013″
- $5 off orders of $50 or more using code “ADW0550″
- 10% off glucose meters and test strips using code “ADWGLU10″
- 15% off insulin pump supplies using code “ADWPUMP15″

  • Heel That Pain – I love how this site focuses just on one product. Heel that Pain is a foot care company that provides patented treatments that are clinically proven to treat heel pain, heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. They claim a 99.7% successful treatment rate. An entry discussing the product for health blogs would make a good entry. They also offer free shipping on orders of $30 or more and they believe in their product so much they also offer a 100% money back guarantee.
  • Life Extension – As their site claims, they are a “global authority on nutrition, health and wellness as well as a provider of scientific information on anti-aging supplements and therapies. We supply only the highest quality nutritional supplements, including minerals, vitamins, herbs and hormones.” Not only do they have an e-commerce store and informational articles but they also have their own magazine. In addition, the company offers a year subscription that providers consumers with discounted supplements, free copies of their magazine, a toll-free phone line where they can discuss their nutrition and health concern with doctors and more. This is definitely worth discussing in a blog entry and you can grab an affiliate link from us that provides readers with 40% savings off the normal $75 a year price by including the keywords “Life Extension Membership” in your post.
  • eHealthInsurance – Who doesn’t have healthcare on their minds these days? This site allows users to search hundreds of health insurance carriers and products to view quotes and compare plans to find the right one for them. An entry on just that would make an informative post.
  • ProWhiteTeeth – Again, the name says it all. Topic ideas include if teeth whitening works, comparison of the different products available, a review of what you’ve tried, which services are scams, how they compare to dentist visits, etc.
  • DocOrtho – The company offers all forms of orthopedic braces and supports as well as far infrared and magnetic healing products.
  • Health Check Systems – This company offers health products such as heart rate monitors, body fat monitors and blood pressure monitors. They also have a large line of baby products as well as a pregnancy related items. A good entry would be for mommy bloggers discussing what they wish they would have purchased from their store or what they would recommend to new mommies.
  • Genuardis and Safeway- For those that don’t live near one, they’re both grocery stores. The only idea I have for a blog post would be to mention how they deliver groceries which is great for time constricted parents or busy individuals on to go. The site is currently offering $5 off the first delivery on the first order if readers use coupon code “SAVECJP414″.
For tech, business and finance bloggers:
  • Verizon Broadband Services – Discussing the benefits of Fios Internet or comparing it with Comcast, Clear or aircards would make a great entry. If Verizon is mentioned, definitely mention they offer free activation when ordered online and be sure to do a price comparison as well between the different services.
  • Newsweek – Readers can save up to 88% by subscribing to the magazine for their site.
  • Forbes Newsletters – The site offers a subscription to The Prudent Speculator, the best-performing veteran in value stock investing. Finance bloggers can discuss what it works and whether or not it’s a good value.
  • LendingTree – The #1 online lending site, they coined the phrase “When Banks Compete, You Win.” The company allows consumers to attain offers for any type of loan (though it looks like they mostly deal with mortgages) within minutes.
  • Morningstar - Mainly for investment and finance bloggers, this service allows investors who are beginners or experienced to receive investing advice, information and analysis.
  • BigCommerce – an e-commerce service that allows anyone to quickly and easily create an online store to sell products, process and ship orders, track inventory and customize the look and layout of their store in a few minutes. This is great for hobbyists who want to sell their own products or someone starting a business for the first time. Users who sign up can receive up to $100 in Google AdWords Credit when they purchase a plan. There’s no coupon code necessary as the offer is applied at checkout.
  • Volusion – Similar to BigCommerce but more focused on businesses that want to build, grow and manage an online store. A comparison between the two and what type of service is better for hobbyists, business owners, etc. would make a good entry.
  • Central Desktop – voted “Best of the Web” by Business Week, this service is an online collaboration tool for team projects. The site offers a free trial. A GREAT entry would be comparing their feature sets with other popular online collaboration services (a google search would return good results).
  • Rocket Lawyer – an online services company that offers 90% of essential legal documents. An entry on cost savings as well as what you’d use and NOT use the site for would make a good post.
The following advertisers are focused on airfare, hotels and car rentals:

Marriott International, Days Inn, Wingate by Wyndham, Ramada, Super8, Howard Johnson, Knights Inn, JetBlue, Smartfares.com, Expedia, GetARoom.com, Rentalcars.com, Budget Truck Rental and Budget Rent a Car.

For fashion bloggers:
  • Oakley – Besides the standard entry on how sunglasses are necessary for the summer time or a comparison between polarized and non-polarized sunglasses, a newsworthy entry here would be discussing their new and very cool, innovative sunglasses and goggles. They offer some that have mp3 player and bluetooth built right in!
  • Pacific Sunwear – An entry on the hottest swimwear fashions for the summer for guys and girls and what brands to grab would make a good entry.
  • Reebok – For sneakerheads, you have to mention their ZigTech line that they claim is “like an energy drink for your feet.” Even better, include reviews and ask for response from those who have tried it.
Bloggers that want to discuss gift ideas:
  • RomanceHer.com – this site is geared towards men who are looking for creative romantic gifts for that special someone. I haven’t heard of it before and a feature blog post exploring what they offer or  a list of your top favorite products would make a great entry.
  • LoveScent – Claiming to be the web’s only “pheromone superstore,” this site offers a selection of – you guessed it – pheromone products. Ideas for interesting blog entries would be if such scents are effective or the science behind them. I was impressed to see they offered a 100% no questions asked guarantee and ship within one business day. That’s service! Definitely include that in your post if you write about them.
  • National Geographic Store – All their shows, products, etc are available as gifts on their online store. An entry on gift ideas for the history/science buff in your circle would make a great entry here. Another is on the kids educational items they offer.
  • Restaurant.com – Did you know you can buy gift cards for certain restaurants in your area for less than half the price? I eat out a lot and this has become one of my favorite new services. An informative entry on how it works and how your readers can save by shopping here first would be a useful post and they’ll thank you for the savings!
  • Direct Wines – offers Wine of the Month clubs for wine enthusiasts. This is a great entry to tie into a gift ideas post.
  • TASER – An entry on self-defense mentioning the Taser and it’s protection system or a review of the products they offer on the site and what’d you recommend for your Mom, Dad, Grandparents, etc would make a great entry. You can probably also find videos on YouTube on how it’s used. If so, definitely include them in the post. The site is offering free shipping on purchases over $100.
  • Sticker Giant – great for businesses or individuals who want custom printed stickers they can stick on walls, shirts, etc. Pick your favorite for a blog entry to promote the product or provide your own ideas on how your readers can create their own funny or helpful versions.
Miscellaneous topic ideas:
  • Brian Tracy – Who is Brian Tracy? He is the leading authority on personal and professional success and offers DVDs, books, audio programs and training programs on goal setting, time management, health and fitness, sales, entrepreneurship and how to build and sustain wealth. The site offers a FREE STUFF section as well as 10% off their products when using coupon code “10Affspec”.
  • Borders.com – Writing a review of your favorite book or want to mention your wish list? A Borders.com mention and a mention of how they always offer free shipping on orders of over $25 would make a good entry.
  • Junk My Car – a free vehicle removal and recycle service, the company offers $30 for every qualified lead they receive.  For this advertiser, I would just write an entry letting users know of this service or tie it into a post about going green. Just make sure you mention how it helps the environment!
  • DocuSign – Did you know there’s such a thing as an electronic signature service? Yep, this company allows organizations to get more documents signed faster, go paperless, and to cut their costs with its on-demand signature solution. They have cool videos on the product online you should definitely include.

As an aside, almost all of these links are affiliate links. Instead of the hours it would have probably taken to add these one-by-one, our affiliate plugin managed to do it less than 2 minutes! How nice is that? :)
